This turquoise specimen is from our North Star Turquoise mine in Cripple Creek Colorado, this turquoise is really hard and needs no treatments. We believe that the reason why it is so hard is because when forming in the ground, gem silica was formed with it along with other types of minerals.
approximately 30 lbs of this deposit was mined out by us.
This is being sold by carat weight at $20.00 per ct, it is 36.1cts.
I will post up a couple of videos of a demonstration, so you can see the hardness. It's a scratch test of this turquoise deposit, using a quartz and a topaz.
The last photo is the read out of this same deposit, (same deposit, not the same stone) this specimen has been sandblasted clean.
